If the auditor concludes that the disclosures are inadequate, or if management have not made any disclosure at all and management refuse to remedy the situation, the opinion will be qualified or adverse. When forecasting becomes less reliable and the past no longer predicts the future, the going concern assessment becomes much harder to document and update, and robust disclosures much more critical.
